Right now we are collectively grieving. 

We are grieving loss: loss of what was, loss of expectations, loss of our goals. Perhaps, the actual loss of a loved one. 

With facing such challenging times, I felt compelled to do a deep dive on how human beings face challenges and what we can do to build our resilience. 

Whether it’s professional or personal, the one thing that will propel us through difficult times is our attitude. And so when things get extremely difficult, how do we not just maintain but continue to grow a positive attitude? What are the actions we can take to stay strong?

  • Vicarious trauma: viewers and anyone helping those undergoing trauma also experience it. 
  • What we accept is what we become. 
  • Those who have some kind of relationship to their faith community (online) there is less use of drugs and alcohol. How does your faith or family sustain you?
  • Find a self-care action plan. 
  • The Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-TALK 
  • If someone is suicidal never take them to the hospital. Call 911 immediately.
  • Instead of focusing on your fears, focus on what makes you laugh.  
  • It is up to you to decide that today is going to be a good day.
